[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Do you ever feel like you are running a circus? We can relate. There are over “21.5 million working mothers with children under the age 18” working within the United States according to the U.S. Department of Labor. These mothers come from a variety of backgrounds ranging from single mothers, mothers in the process of separating from their spouse, mothers of adopted children, mothers of children with special needs, stay-at-home-mothers, mothers of a minority background, full-time working mothers, people who identify as moms, to disabled mothers. Working mothers are one of the most unique humans, often delicately balancing office and home life while still providing the best care possible for their little ones.

Family First Travel Nannies, a temporary and travel nanny agency based out of Charlotte, North Carolina would personally like to offer mothers a round of applause. With International Women’s Day upon us, we took some time to do some research on working mothers. A blog post from the U.S. Department of Labor, 12 Statistics of Working Women depicts what an integral and vital part of the workforce that women make-up, a large percentage of them with children at home. Some facts pulled from the blog:

  • Seventy percent of mothers with children under 18 participate in the labor force, with over 75 percent employed full-time.
  • Mothers are the primary or sole earners for 40 percent of households with children under 18 today, compared with 11 percent in 1960.

The team at FFTN aims to help working moms achieve their goals through their services. Two goals that moms often have on their priority list are: exceptional childcare and maintaining their demanding schedule. The idea of figuring out which childcare option is best for her family is often a stressful and time-consuming process, something that FFTN is expertly equipped to handle.

FFTN works hard to meet a mom where she is and is ready to take on whatever event she is currently facing. Our career nannies are handpicked diligently by our staff and are placed quickly and efficiently. Nannies from FFTN are exceptional in that they are very flexible for the working mom’s schedule and will always meet each mother with kindness, empathy, and respect.

An example of an event that a mom may be facing is one that Leigh Aberle (one of the founders of FFTN) mentions in her interview Self-Care Talk where a nanny tore her ACL. The mom of this particular family needed a temporary nanny as soon as possible, but only for two months. Given the unique situation of events, the mom reached out to FFTN and was able to find a solution that could keep stress levels down. Our team of temporary nannies and mannies are ready to be placed into situations like this and ready to be a huge support to working mothers. This is something that we hope makes our agency one of the best, not only in Charlotte, but nationally!

International Women’s Day is a perfect time to reflect on what roles working moms partake in day to day life and just how much they contribute. It’s easy for things to get muddled when a family is constantly on the go, juggling their never ending schedule and forgetting who is often behind the scenes. Quite frequently, it is our working moms …making sure all the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed.
