Private Tutor Wanted in Waxhaw, NC-Filled

Family First is assisting a family in Waxhaw, North Carolina, in finding a tutor for their four kids, ages six (twins,) eleven, and thirteen. The children will be in grades one, six, and eight. The family would like a tutor who can come into their home for two days a week, for two hours at a time. Pay for this position is $40-$60 an hour based off of experience and certifications. You must have at least a bachelor’s degree in education to apply. 

Both mom and dad work from home, and they are bringing on a nanny to assist in facilitating the children’s online schooling. It is imperative that their tutor be a team player who can check-in with the nanny on how the children are doing in school. They have set up a special area in their home for school work. The family utilizes a shared Google Calendar, and would like a tutor who is comfortable with adding things via the calendar to their children and nanny’s schedules. 

Their 8th grade daughter will be completely online schooling. She is intelligent, but has a hard time feeling motivated to go the extra mile in her school work. She is very artistic and kind, but needs a push to come out of her shell and be fully engaged. Their 6th grade child is competitive and determined.  The first grade twins should not need assistance from the tutor as the nanny will be focused on helping with their school work.

It is important to the family that the tutor coming into their home is following CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. Their main goal is to keep everyone in the home safe.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in education

  • CPR and First Aid Certified

  • 3 or more years of professional experience

  • Be legally permitted to work in the United States

  • Be at least 21 years of age

  • Be able to pass a government background check if hired, including sex offender, criminal, county, and state, DMV records
