Being a nanny is often disregarded as a real, professional career. “You’re just a babysitter,” they say. We know this is not true, but why is it that the public can perceive the nanny industry in such an incorrect light? Full-time, in-home care is unlike any other “professional” job on the market. Nannies are crossing into their bosses home, but what lines are (professionally) not to be crossed when you are blessed with the opportunity to care for a child? How, as a nanny in such a personal setting, can you continue to remain professional, yet allow yourself the freedom you need to interact with children? We have to admit, these are all really hard questions, and sometimes their answers are not so straight forward.
On August 17th, Family First Household Staffing Agency set out to answer some of these questions, and have a little fun, too! Our Professionalism 101 event was held a Mary Kay suite in Charlotte, hosted with our CEO Leigh Aberle alongside Hannah and Joel from North state Photography. During this event, nannies had the opportunity to get glammed up by Lynsey Wilson and have a professional headshot taken; the perfect addition to any professional resume. While waiting, nannies had a chance to talk with Leigh one-on-one, and in groups, about methods to bring more professionalism into the industry we love so much. Check out these fun photos taken by North State Photography.
