Family First is assisting a family in the Myers Park Neighborhood of Charlotte, NC, in finding a long term, full time family assistant. They have two children, ages 4 and 2.5, and two furry family members.
This job starts April 18th, 2022, but they are willing to wait for the right fit. Care is needed for 50 hours a week, from 7:45am-5:45pm, Monday through Friday. They are offering $21-$23 an hour, and overtime, for a family assistant that is energetic, reliable, organized, and proactive. Their 4 year old is in school four days a week, and their 2.5 year old is in school two mornings a week, so drop offs and pickups are required (school is close, they sometimes walk, weather permitted)! They have a busy summer planned, and it is important that their nanny keep them engaged and active. Both of the children love to play outdoors, go to Discovery Place, and other play dates.
Their oldest is a rule follower, plays life by the book, and loves trucks. Their youngest knows what she wants and goes for it, and enjoys her dance and soccer lessons. They are affectionate siblings and play well together, too! They enjoy puzzles, crafting, and play doh. Both children have an extensive extra curricular activity schedule, so a nanny who can stay on top and be on time is vital. The children are helpful around the house with appropriate chores. Their nanny should continue to include them in tidying up the house and other tasks as they grow.
They aim to raise independent, kind, responsible children, and are looking for a nanny who values child-rearing in the same ways. They are looking for someone who is fun, responsible, social, and open minded. While the children are in school, the family would like their candidate to complete family assistant tasks, such as, grocery pickups, packing lunches, children’s laundry (including sheets), wiping down counters, and more (listed below)!

Childcare duties include, but not limited to:
- Creating developmentally appropriate activities
- Planning and transportation to various activities (library, music class, nature center, etc.), and enjoying outdoor play
- Communication with parents
- Keeping children on track developmentally
- Transportation to and from school and activities
- Homework assistance when needed
- Being an interested and hands-on caregiver in their home
- Keeping the children free of screen time
Household Duties include, but not limited to:
- All children’s Laundry
- Running Errands
- Meal Prep for kids
- Light household tidying
- Switching out seasonal clothing for children
- Restocking diapers and wipes
- Loading and Unloading the dishwasher
- Putting away packages
- Ordering supplies that are low in stock
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of childcare experience
- Reliable, organized, and trustworthy
- Experience caring for toddlers and school-age children
- Gentle discipline approach that aligns with parenting style
- Open and proactive with communication
- Clear background check and driving record
- CPR certification
- Fully vaccinated (including COVID booster)
- Non-smoker
- Fluent in English
- Must be at least 21 years of age
