Looking to sharpen your nanny skills?
Hello,
WE ARE FAMILY FIRST
Family First Household Staffing Agency was founded in 2017 to help busy professionals in Charlotte, NC and across the country find long term career nannies. Recognizing that families did not have the resources or time to find exceptional nannies, we have made the process simple and seamless. Family First helps educate parents on how to employe household staff and supports them even after the placement has been made. Family First Household Staffing Agency, aligns with the culture and regulations of the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies, the International Nanny Association and has been a three time co-host of International Nanny Training Day.
Our
FAMILY PROCESS

Whether it’s your first time finding staff for your family, or you’ve been on the search for a while, we’ll make the journey as stress-free as possible. We’re not interested in finding you any fit, we’re interested in finding you the perfect fit.
SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to find Household Staff?
We have seen a rise in the demand for quality full time nannies. Searches can take 6-8 weeks, but many only take 2-3 weeks.
What pay rate do Household Staff expect?
This all depends on the expectations of the candidate. In most states, you can expect a pay range of $25-$35+ per hour. Please check out our job book for reference.
How do your services compare to other referral agencies?
At Family First, we value values. We hand select caregivers, looking not only at their experience and background, but also take into consideration their humility, integrity, relational intelligence and hunger for growth. We believe nannies and other household staff have a unique ability to impact the next generation in a positive way. It’s truly our heart to help create stability and balance in lives of the families we work with and you can expect that our team will hold your hand through this delicate process. Each and everyone of our team member were nannies in the past and know just what you need.
What is your screening process?
We specialize in helping parents find full time career nannies. We require that all of our candidates have three + years of professional nanny experience within the last 5 years, be CPR and First Aid certified, pass a National Background Check, have a clean Driving Record, provide extraordinary references, and must go through two separate and intense interviews with our staff.
Can you recommend a tax and pay roll company?
Employers are legally required to withhold their portion of Medicare, Social Security, and Unemployment from their staff’s wages. We highly recommend HomeWork Solutions and GTM as they have incredible customer service. Make sure to let them know we referred you as they offer our clients a bit of a discount!
How do we value the community?
Our mission is to be a transforming force in the world. We want to do this by helping families with children who don’t always get equal opportunities. We also do our best to help educate families and their caregivers how to create a positive and healthy environment for children.

Travel Nanny Feature
At Family First Travel Nannies we value values. We hand select care givers, looking not only at experience and background, but also seriously examining humility, relational intelligence and hunger for growth. When these qualities are strong in a nanny or manny, we can assure families that they will be comfortable knowing that their children will grow up in a healthy, safe and stimulating environment. We found these qualities in Ashley, one of our STAR nannies. We asked her a few questions so you could get to know her better. [spacer] 1.) What does being a nanny mean to you? I have so many answers, it’s hard to find one place to start. To me, in short, being a nanny is more than just a job—I believe a nanny is there to make families lives easier. Of course, my charges are always my number one priority. I thrive off of being able to bond with them, grow with them, and being able to help educate them through exploration and creative experiences. 2.) What was your favorite memory with your last family/child? One of my favorite memories with one of my most recent families was being able to bring my charge to […]
‘Tis the Season to Spoil your Nanny
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1572216474531{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”] The holiday season is upon us, and oh how it crept up quickly! We’re running around making sure we’ve gotten all of our gifts for friends and family, but let’s not forget our nannies, mannies and other household staff. Gifting during the holiday season is something that not only benefits employees, but benefits employers, as well. The kind gesture of presenting them with a gift is sure to remind them how appreciated their work is. In return, you’ll be sure to be remembered as a caring family, hopefully ensuring more stellar employees in the future. It is standard to gift your nanny with a 1-2 weeks end of the year bonus, so please keep that in mind. However, we’ve compiled a list of 15 examples (excluding the bonus) that will, hopefully, give you some ideas for the holidays. Detail your nanny’s car (If your nanny is using their own vehicle, this could be a great suggestion. Who knows if there’s been a spilt cup of milk or not.) Gift Cards (Macy’s, Amazon, local mall, etc..) Pedicure/Manicure (This may be great for your nanny or manny if you’ve notice that they like to keep up on their […]
Household Managers, Nannies and Families: Are you struggling to stay organized?
As a nanny, household manager, or family member — you know how hard it is to stay organized! Keeping a household running smoothly and on track can take a village, which is why we’ve dedicated this post to a few go-to organizational apps. These apps can provide a lot of assistance that could ease the stress of maintaining your household and keeping a steady schedule. Whether you’re a single parent trying to run several schedules, a household manager attempting to keep a fully staffed household running, or a nanny who wants to share their calendar with their work family; this blog may be for you! We put a couple of feelers out and conducted a small survey across a couple of online nanny groups. The majority of nannies/household managers chose Google Calendar followed by Cozi, and then Teamup. Below we will touch base on these top three apps! Google Calendar is a great, but very simple tool that many people often use to share their schedules with one another. This app was the most popular amongst the household employees who chose to participate in the survey and comes highly rated on both the iPhone and Android. With Google Calendar, you […]
