Looking to sharpen your nanny skills?

Hello,

WE ARE FAMILY FIRST

Family First Household Staffing Agency was founded in 2017 to help busy professionals in Charlotte, NC and across the country find long term career nannies. Recognizing that families did not have the resources or time to find exceptional nannies, we have made the process simple and seamless. Family First helps educate parents on how to employe household staff and supports them even after the placement has been made. Family First Household Staffing Agency, aligns with the culture and regulations of the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies, the International Nanny Association and has been a three time co-host of International Nanny Training Day.

Our

FAMILY PROCESS

Whether it’s your first time finding staff for your family, or you’ve been on the search for a while, we’ll make the journey as stress-free as possible. We’re not interested in finding you any fit, we’re interested in finding you the perfect fit.

SO HAPPY YOU ARE HERE!

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to find Household Staff?

We have seen a rise in the demand for quality full time nannies. Searches can take 6-8 weeks, but many only take 2-3 weeks.

What pay rate do Household Staff expect?

This all depends on the expectations of the candidate. In most states, you can expect a pay range of $25-$35+ per hour. Please check out our job book for reference.

How do your services compare to other referral agencies?

At Family First, we value values. We hand select caregivers, looking not only at their experience and background, but also take into consideration their humility, integrity, relational intelligence and hunger for growth. We believe nannies and other household staff have a unique ability to impact the next generation in a positive way. It’s truly our heart to help create stability and balance in lives of the families we work with and you can expect that our team will hold your hand through this delicate process. Each and everyone of our team member were nannies in the past and know just what you need.

What is your screening process?

We specialize in helping parents find full time career nannies. We require that all of our candidates have three + years of professional nanny experience within the last 5 years, be CPR and First Aid certified, pass a National Background Check, have a clean Driving Record, provide extraordinary references, and must go through two separate and intense interviews with our staff.

Can you recommend a tax and pay roll company?

Employers are legally required to withhold their portion of Medicare, Social Security, and Unemployment from their staff’s wages. We highly recommend HomeWork Solutions and GTM as they have incredible customer service. Make sure to let them know we referred you as they offer our clients a bit of a discount!

How do we value the community?

Our mission is to be a transforming force in the world. We want to do this by helping families with children who don’t always get equal opportunities. We also do our best to help educate families and their caregivers how to create a positive and healthy environment for children.

BLOG

National Boss Day

National Boss Day

In honor of National Boss Day, Ashley Wainwright, one of our star nannies has written a blog on how nannies and mannies can honor their bosses on National Boss Day. National Nanny Recognition Week was just a few weeks ago and I know many of you felt very loved with all the sweet notes and gifts you may have received. Now it’s time to celebrate your boss. Each year, on October 16th, we nannies and mannies can take it up a notch and remind them how much we appreciate them as parents (or sole guardians; let’s not forget foster families, grandparents, etc..) and bosses. We work so hard as household employees it’s easy to forget that our bosses are also working to the bone. This is a great time to strengthen that bond between nannies and employers as well as to simply serve as a “thank you” for being with a stellar family. Whether your bosses are doctors, CEOs, scientists, teachers, or stay-at-home-parents, always try to remember that they are often running themselves ragged. We often have our own families to care for at the end of the day and they do as well. It’s easy for parents to feel […]

How to keep that fabulous caregiver..well, fabulous!

How to keep that fabulous caregiver..well, fabulous!

If you have an amazing nanny or manny, they are more than likely performing marathons to keep your kids, your household, and themselves sane for when you return. You’re a busy family with places to be, children to dote on, and a boatload of work with a deadline that was last week; in other words, you barely have room to think about anything else. However, one very important thing you should try to squeeze in is some appreciation for your children’s nanny or manny. You’re probably thinking that your children’s nanny or manny already know how much you appreciate them. While that may be true (and if often is!), sometimes they just aren’t getting that crucial feedback. Hopefully, this post can be a great, perhaps gentle reminder to always say “thank you” to your nanny or manny. Either way, here is some food for thought on ways that can remind them that they are important and recognized. One place every family can start is National Nanny Recognition Week and how to celebrate it. Although it has come and gone this past September you can always prepare for next year. National Nanny Recognition Week is a time each year that gives […]

Finding Your Soul Nanny

Finding Your Soul Nanny

Ugh. I Need to Find Childcare. It was the summer of 2015, and I was a hot mess. Literally. My wardrobe consisted of nursing tanks with crusty milk stains, and the summer heat fueled my glistening maternal glow. Luckily, my aesthetic was likely overlooked by the stench of various body fluids flung/dripped/wiped/hurled onto me by my three heirs. As I reveled in my motherly status during a morning walk with the infant, a neighbor asked me who would watch the baby once I returned to work. Crap. As with all things related to parenting, I was usually 3 steps behind and operating on 1) wishful thinking and 2) goldfish crackers. In this particular case, the clouds parted and the world bestowed me a V.I.N. (Very Involved Neighbor). “I have someone for you.” Whew. Heck, yes. I am such a good mother. You Had Me At “Non-Gender Conforming” So, here’s the thing. My three kids emerged from the same lady parts, and they are outstandingly different. I needed someone who knew to 1) sway his/her hips when holding the one who still pooped his pants, 2) honor the one who loves pink and has a dark mind like Poe and, […]

Thank you for all that you have done for our family! Your agency is thorough and compassionate. I would recommend you in a heartbeat. I hope that we will be able to work with you for our family’s next adventure.

We had the pleasure of being referred to Family First Travel Nannies who is owned and operated by CEO, Leigh Aberle. Our temporary nanny is a wonderful person and Nanny. My grandson loved her warm and nurturing personality. She was very attentive and made him laugh often! She always cleaned up in the kitchen and encouraged our grandson to clean up after playing. I would refer her with no hesitation. A lovely young lady and thankful for everything she did for us - especially our grandson.
