Are you a career nanny who truly loves the newborn stage but is equally excited about watching a child grow into a curious, independent toddler? This Greensboro family is looking for an experienced infant nanny who can confidently step into the newborn stage now and grow alongside their daughter through toddlerhood and beyond. This job could be for you!
About the Family
This professional family recently welcomed their first baby into their world and is looking for a warm, experienced career nanny who takes pride in being fully present with a child and paying attention to who she is becoming.
Mom works from home and is currently breastfeeding, so the nanny should be comfortable working alongside her throughout the day—bringing baby to Mom when it is time to nurse, helping settle her afterward, and smoothly managing the transitions before and after feeds. The family is looking for someone who is attentive to baby’s individual cues and needs, able to follow her natural rhythm rather than forcing a rigid schedule, and genuinely enjoys being engaged with her throughout the day. This includes plenty of tummy time, talking, reading, singing, sensory play, cuddling, and age-appropriate interaction as she grows. The goal is to provide a calm, responsive environment where baby feels secure while also having plenty of opportunities to explore, learn, and develop at her own pace.
Both parents are busy professionals and have created a home that is thoughtful, active, and intentional. They enjoy healthy food, cooking, baking, sports and the outdoors. As their daughter grows, they would like to see her involved in these everyday experiences as well.
Their parenting values center around integrity, loyalty, kindness, security, education, curiosity, and resilience. They believe children deserve to be treated with respect while being given opportunities to develop confidence and independence.
The family values open, direct communication and a calm environment. They are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of the day while being open to collaboration and communicate openly and respectfully when questions or concerns arise.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your primary responsibility will always be providing attentive, loving care for the baby.
Infant Care
- Provide responsive newborn care, including feeding, soothing, diapering, and naps
- Support feeding and sleep routines while remaining flexible to baby’s changing needs
- Engage baby through tummy time, reading, songs, sensory activities, and age-appropriate play
- Observe and communicate about developmental milestones, behavior, feeding, sleep, and overall wellbeing
- Maintain a screen-free environment for baby
- Keep personal phone use limited to brief, necessary use or child-related communication during working hours
- Provide outdoor time, walks, and age-appropriate outings as baby grows
*Please note for feeds that mom is breastfeeding and works from home.
Baby & Household Support
When baby’s needs have been fully met, typically during naps or quieter periods, the nanny will provide baby-related and light household support, including:
- Baby laundry, including washing, folding, and putting away
- Washing and sanitizing bottles, pump parts, and feeding supplies
- Keeping the nursery and play spaces organized, tidy, and stocked
- Restocking diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials
- Thoughtfully rotating a limited selection of toys
- Organizing outgrown clothing and baby items
- Preparing simple meals or meal components
- Unpacking groceries and completing a light kitchen reset
- Occasional baby-related errands as age-appropriate
The family follows a Montessori-inspired, intentional approach, emphasizing fewer, meaningful toys, focused play, independence, and learning through everyday experiences with strongly valuing education and safety. As baby grows, the nanny will ideally enjoy involving her in practical life activities such as cooking, baking, outdoor exploration, and simple household tasks to learn new skillsets and independence.
As the baby approaches solids, the family may choose baby-led weaning or another thoughtful approach to introducing foods. The nanny should be comfortable learning and following the family’s chosen approach and any guidance they provide.
