Meet the Family (In Their Own Words)

“We’re a Charlotte-based family welcoming our sweet new baby girl into a home filled with curiosity, music, baking experiments, late-night astronomy chats, and a sweet  6-year-old dog who considers herself the unofficial household manager. We’re lifelong learners, enjoy hosting friends, slightly type-A, and believe a well-run home and a joyful one are the same thing.

Mom is home often, so this role is about partnering and collaborating with her. Some days you’ll be fully hands-on with the baby while she runs errands or hits the gym. Other days she’ll soak up baby snuggles while you keep the household humming.“

An Important Note on Privacy

This is a high-profile family, and discretion is non-negotiable. The baby and family are never to appear on social media or be discussed publicly. The selected candidate will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to starting. If respecting privacy comes naturally to you, you’ll feel right at home here.

What You’ll Be Doing

Day-to-day, you’ll provide attentive, screen-free, Montessori-inspired care that supports baby’s natural rhythm through naps, feedings, transitions, and responsive engagement. You’ll create a nurturing environment filled with meaningful, curiosity-led experiences — from sensory play and music to books, nature walks, and real-world exploration that encourages confidence and discovery.

The family would love a nanny who genuinely enjoys getting out and about with their little one — whether that’s playdates, library story time, walks to favorite local spots, or small everyday adventures that make childhood feel rich and connected.

In addition to infant care, you’ll help keep the nursery and child-related spaces running smoothly by staying on top of baby laundry, fresh crib sheets, stocked essentials, and organized play areas. Light household support includes tasks such as loading the dishwasher, vacuuming shared spaces, and helping maintain a calm, tidy environment for the family.

Most importantly, you’ll maintain open, thoughtful communication with the parents — sharing updates, milestones, routines, and the little moments that help them feel connected to their child’s day.

You’ll Love This Role If You…

You’re proactive, warm, organized, and naturally tuned into the rhythm of family life. You value clear communication, professionalism, privacy, and bringing positive energy into a home. The family would especially love someone who embraces curiosity and creativity, and appreciates a growth mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional infant and/or newborn care experience in a private family home.
  • Knowledge of Montessori principles preferred.
  • CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified (or willing to obtain prior to start date).
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Excellent verifiable references from prior nanny or household positions.
  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal background investigation, DMV driving record, SSN verification, sex offender registry, and national wants and warrants check.
  • Comfortable signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

A Note on Commitment (Because We Believe in Doing This Right)

This family is seeking a candidate who can commit to at least one year. Due to the nature of their professional life, there is a possibility that circumstances could shift around the 9-month mark. If that happens, the family is fully committed to providing ample notice and/or severance so the nanny is never left without a runway. At Family First, we believe nannies deserve the same professionalism and care they bring to the homes they serve — and this family shares that value wholeheartedly.
