Educational & Emotional Support for Teen
- Location: Ballantyne
- Start Date: Mid-April (Flexibile)
- Commitment: Long-term
- Schedule: 4-5 hours per day (flexible as routines develop)
- Compensation: $35-$50/hour depending on qualifications
- Employment: W-2 (PTO, paid holidays, guaranteed hours)
Family First is looking for a calm, steady, and intuitive professional to support a 15-year-old returning home after residential treatment. She is ready to rebuild her rhythm in learning, emotional regulation, and daily life. Your role will be to guide, support, and inspire her through this transition.
This teen experiences the world through Level 1 Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She may sometimes struggle to express emotions, read social cues, or respond predictably. She thrives with calm, consistent guidance, clear expectations, and a professional who meets her exactly where she is while gently encouraging new and improved life skillsets.
Academically, she is revisiting 9th grade through virtual lessons. The curriculum is set; your role is to bring it to life while helping keep her engaged, accountable, and supported so she isn’t just completing assignments, but actually learning and understanding.You’ll support executive functioning—task initiation, time management, and follow-through—in a way that feels manageable and encouraging.
She is deeply creative, with passions for drawing, music, storytelling, and the outdoors—including walking her dog and family hikes. Integrating these interests into daily routines will be key to building connection and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support home-based, virtual academic learning with a focus on engagement and genuine progress
- Establish and maintain routines, visual and verbal structures, and time awareness
- Support executive functioning skills like organization, focus, and follow-through
- Guide emotional regulation using strategies that are calm, predictable, and supportive
- Integrate creative interests—art, music, storytelling—into daily engagement
- Facilitate safe outdoor activities and encourage exploration and curiosity
- Provide consistent presence, clear communication, and predictable boundaries
Who You Are
- Experienced supporting teens in educational, behavioral, or therapeutic settings
- Comfortable guiding neurodiverse individuals, especially those navigating Level 1 Autism, ADHD, and depression
- Calm, patient, and emotionally grounded, responding thoughtfully rather than reacting
- Observant, intuitive, and creative—able to spark curiosity, engagement, and confidence
- Skilled at balancing structure and flexibility, routines and autonomy
- Growth-minded—open to learning, adapting, and giving/receiving feedback
- Collaborative with parents and support teams, sharing observations clearly and thoughtfully
- Reliable, professional, and capable of building trust while maintaining supportive boundaries

Requirements
- Prior in-home experience with teens
- Confident supporting executive functioning and virtual learning programs
- Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation
- Clean driving record + background check
- Strong references from previous families
- Comfortable around pets and smoke exposure but a non-smoker
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Willingness to maintain CPR/First Aid
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Fluent in English
- Education: College coursework or degree preferred, but not required
